Vestis Services Senior Accountant (Distribution Centers) in Roswell, Georgia

Description

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Weekly prep, review and coordination of the Open PO CLP file with Lawrenceville, Decatur and Reno staff.

  • Prepare billing file on a monthly basis for shipments to affiliated companies. This is currently being evaluated and MAY become a weekly function.

  • Prepare monthly journal entries for the Distribution Centers. Entries include sales and billing, inventory adjustments and various accruals. Clearly document sources of data and reasoning for entries.

  • Review on a monthly basis preliminary financial statements, both balance sheet and operating statements, for all Distribution Centers. Prepare any necessary journal entries for final close based on the review of the statements. Also prepare a written analysis of variances to projection for Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance.

  • Download and prep the monthly inventory files from the inventory system.

  • Prepare monthly inventory reconciliation and present it to upper management on a monthly basis. Prepare detail analysis of purchase price variances.

  • Prepare various monthly reports such as inventory summary, etc.

  • Prepare balance sheet accounts reconciliation package for Distribution Center’s on a monthly basis.

  • Prepare and submit monthly credit request from the vendor for embroidery (TC2’s) on a monthly basis.

  • Prepare quarterly reporting for ARAMARK corporate management.

  • Assist lead accountant with DC pricing update for management review with explanations for changes. Once approved upload pricing changes into the inventory system. Co-ordinate the efforts with the DC personnel as well as IT support team.

  • Participate in annual budget preparation.

  • Participate in annual physical inventory count as requested.

  • Complete ad-hoc reporting to support business analysis questions from the operations team as well as corporate management.

  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Oracle Financials knowledge strongly preferred.

  • Strong spreadsheet experience required including pivot tables and Vlookup.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Work well with operations team as well as upper management.

  • Ability to complete projects/tasks on time with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to manage own schedule, alerting supervisor if circumstances change.

  • Solid problem-solving skills, which include well-supported proposed solutions to issues.

Working Environment/Safety Requirements:

Office Environment

  • Willing to travel on a limited basis for annual physical counts or as necessary for business needs.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

  • 5 to 7 years of prior general accounting experience or 2 to 3 years of public accounting experience
